Novelty helmets have become Savin Scalp's specialty. We carry one of the largest selections of novelty and german helmets on the net. They are made by some of the top manufacturers including names like Voss, Daytona, and Caliber. Our novelty helmets come in several styles: german, polo, rebel, beanie, and many more. We also offer hard to find options on our Daytona Helmets such as real carbon fiber or leather made from lamb hide imported from New Zealand. Most novelty helmets have around 1/4" thick padding between the shell and your scalp. The german novelty helmets are not meant to save your melon in a motorcycle accident and are not D.O.T. approved. We do carry novelties that are D.O.T. approved which have around 1" of padding giving them the required saftey rating. The first kind is amodular design which allows the rider to flip up the entire front of the helmet for easy access to your whole face (great for those who wear glasses). Second is the full face which has a visor that will flip up allowing limited access to your face from the upper lip to the mid brow line. We carry a selection of over 50 different half helmets. These are some of the lightest and most unique on the market today. All of these weigh in the 2 lb. range for superior comfort on longer rides. To increase the comfort, look for one with a vent for the hot summer rides. Visors are fixed with screws or come with a removable snap design. Some THH half helmet models are available without a visor for those who do not like them. Half helmets offer a motorcyclist the most freedom without sacrificing the needed DOT rating required by all but 3 or 4 of the states. All of our Outlaw and THH helmets carry the D.O.T. approved rating.
